Homelesness Prevention Outreach Worker

Helping Spirit Lodge Society

My name is Bradley Pearce, my Spirit name is Nikamon Pihêsiw Nâpêw Which is Cree, For singing Thunderbird Man  and I am a Homelessness Prevention Outreach Worker with the Healing Bear Outreach Program at Helping Spirit Lodge Society (HSLS). I walk alongside individuals and families facing the risk of homelessness, supporting them with housing stability, rental subsidies, utility relief, food security, and connections to community partners.

This work is deeply connected to my own healing journey. As an Indigenous man, I have been reclaiming my culture and identity through ceremony and becoming a Men’s Traditional dancer. Each step I take in the circle is a reminder of resilience and the responsibility to carry those teachings into the community. Ceremony has guided me to look within, and much of my work now also focuses on healing the inner child — helping people reconnect with their sense of worth, safety, and belonging.

For me, homelessness prevention is more than housing: it is about restoring dignity, nurturing the spirit, and creating pathways where individuals can stand strong in who they are. Through HSLS and the Reaching Home program, I remain committed to bridging service gaps, uplifting Indigenous voices, and weaving cultural knowledge into every aspect of housing and wellness supports.
